Nostra is a boom time start up that has not only survived but flourished over the course of the past 5 years. Nostra began trading at a time of high wages and even higher rents, when many businesses were beginning to fail “We couldn’t have picked a worse time to start a business, within a year of starting the world had changed” said Kevin O’Loughlin, Nostra CEO.
As the world changed following the onset of the recession, Nostra also changed its outlook, and quickly realised the new world would be a different place in which to do business. The company’s founders decided very early on to focus Nostra’s limited starting resources on new emerging technology which they knew would dramatically reduce the cost of doing business, namely Virtualisation and Cloud, both of which were very new concepts when Nostra began operating. Nostra became the first IT provider in Ireland to offer Hosted Exchange, which later evolved into what we now know as Microsoft Office 365, and remain a leading Microsoft Partner in Ireland to this day.
Nostra now has over 150 clients split between Ireland and the UK, operating in both the SME and Enterprise space. The company has 50 employees, almost 30 of whom have been appointed over the course of the past 20 months “Our business is based on people, and if you have great people working with you, the business will grow and evolve by itself” said Mr O’Loughlin.
Nostra is continuing to grow and expand at pace, and will continue to concentrate its efforts exclusively in Ireland and the UK where it recognises it has a massive opportunity to continue its growth as a market leading IT Service provider. Nostra claims the key to its success is in offering value to clients by focusing on their core business needs and improving operational efficiency, all while becoming a true partner. This focus is solely based on delivering what a client needs and as a result Nostra claims to have a client retention rate of 99% for the last 3 years running, which is a statistic they are very proud of.
Nostra has numerous awards under its belt, from start-up business of the year in 2008 with Ulster Bank, runner up in the Service business of the year in 2012 and 2013, top 50 status in the Deloitte Fast 50 Technology awards in both 2014 and 2015, and most recently as a national winner in the 2015/16 European Business awards.
Nostra says that it expects to increase turnover in 2015 by approximately 90% bringing it to €6.5 million. Nostra is also actively seeking acquisition opportunities and is open to contact from interested parties.
Nostra are recruiting a wide variety of positions, including Level 3 Engineers, Senior Field Sales, Print Sales, Internal Sales, Marketing, Administration, and Business Development professionals.
